Student Exchange Programs
National University of Singapore (NUS)
The partnership between HCMULAW and the National University of Singapore (NUS) offers students a unique opportunity to engage with one of Asia’s top law schools. Chiangmai University and University of Malaya
Exchange programs with Chiangmai University (Thailand) and University of Malaya (Malaysia) provide HCMULAW students with the chance to experience legal education in one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic legal hubs. The field study to Chiangmai University provides a strong focus on ASEAN legal frameworks, international trade law, and comparative legal studies. Nagoya University

In addition to student exchanges, HCMULAW’s staff exchange programs aim to enhance academic collaboration and professional development for faculty members. The staff exchange programs are crucial for building stronger academic ties between HCMULAW and its partners, while also contributing to the professional growth of the university’s faculty.
National University of Singapore (NUS): Faculty members from HCMULAW have participated in research collaborations with NUS scholars, engage in joint seminars and teaching initiatives in the area of international law, international trade law, competition law.
Nagoya University: Staff exchange with Nagoya University fosters collaboration in legal research, particularly in areas such as international business law and dispute resolution, helping to strengthen academic connections between Vietnam and Japan. The faculty members of Nagoya University contributed significantly to the development of special program with emphasis on Japanese language and Japanese law at HCMUL.
The staff exchange programs between Ho Chi Minh City University of Law (HCMULAW) and Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) and the University of Lausanne have been conducted under the "Institutions for Knowledge Intensive Development: Economic and Regulatory Aspects in South-East Asian Transition Economies" (IKID) project, which is part of the Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE) of the EU Horizon 2020 Project. This initiative is aimed at fostering academic collaboration and sharing expertise between universities in Europe and Southeast Asia, focusing on economic and regulatory development in transition economies. Through the IKID project, staff members from HCMULAW have had the opportunity to collaborate with their counterparts at TalTech and the University of Lausanne on interdisciplinary research and regulatory aspects of knowledge-intensive development.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Law (HCMULAW) also has developed strong ties with many Francophone universities, including Paris II - Panthéon Assas, Jean Moulin Lyon 3, University of Bordeaux, University of Toulouse Capitole, University of Burgundy, and the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium. These partnerships play a significant role in enhancing academic exchange, collaboration, and the internationalization of legal education at HCMULAW. Through these partnerships, faculty members from the partner universities regularly visit HCMULAW to teach law, conduct seminars, and lead conferences. This collaboration allows HCMULAW students to benefit from diverse legal perspectives and deepen their understanding of international legal systems, particularly in the context of French and European law. Similarly, HCMULAW faculty members also have opportunities to visit the partner institutions in France to teach law and conduct seminars.
